Our History

The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers has been growing stronger every year. SHPE has some professional chapters in the state of New York, in New York City and in Rochester. Some SHPE/IBM professionals were discovering that there are old SHPE members working in the Mid-Hudson Valley region but no longer participate in SHPE because of the traveling distance to the other professional chapters in the state. Therefore, a few people here in Poughkeepsie and Fishkill, NY worked with SHPE's national president, Diana Gomez, and IBM and founded SHPE-MHV professional chapter. (6/2005).
